LOGISTICS: MATERIALS: INTERNET

The internet has helped the film industry a lot, from small filmmakers to the biggest most known filmmakers, the internet has had some sort of effect on their job. It helps with the advertising of their films to having more people audition for roles because they now know about it. However, the internet offers a variety of materials to filmmakers. For example, filmmakers can now use lots of free music from YouTube because it's not copyrighted.

Another thing that the internet lets filmmakers do it research. No matter what project you are working on you will always need secondary research and the internet lets you do that. However for films it is not very easy to do research and it takes a lot of time, therefore, you will need sufficient time during pre-production for this task. If you do not allocate sufficient time for internet research then some key information might be missed out. For example, if you was to do a film about the war but then missed out what uniform each army wore then you would of missed out key information and it would have a big effect on your film.

Clearances in materials means the process you go through to get permission, you need permission for; any sets used, the cast starring in your film, music if it is not copyright free, stock film, art posters, any brands mentioned or seen in the film, books, broadcasts, computer programs (if any has been used), dramatic works, and photographs.  Clearances need to be done when making a film so you do not get legally in trouble, your trademark isn't taken down and you have all the insurance needed when making your film.  For a review, you need to go to the attorney. When doing this you need to provide the script. The talent in a film is who stars in it. When you have a short film budget like £3000 over a big Hollywood film budget like £63000000 then you might not always see actors that you know. For a £3000 budget on the talent you could hire out 5 actors. For one male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. For another male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. Lastly for another male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. For one female actor you would have to pay her £15 per hour. For another female actor you would have to pay her £25 per hour. If they each work for 8 hours a day then in total it would cost you £560 per day. Therefore a week of filming would cost you £2800. If your budget has £3000 on each department then you could hire them all but if you wanted to save money on your production then you could use your friends or just have 2-3 experienced actors.
