The main equipment needed to make a short film is; a camera, a tripod, camera lenses, lights, an on camera microphone or/and a microphone on it's own, storage, power, a laptop and an editing software.

Camera:
With a £3000 budget a good camera to purchase is the Nikon F801S 
However, with a big budget like £63000000 a film camera that is good to purchase is the Canon EOS 1D

Tripod:
With a £3000 budget a good tripod to get is the AmazonBasics 
For the bigger budget a good tripod is the MeFOTO Roadtrip

Camera Lenses:
With the camera that is purchased in the smaller the best lens to get is the Sigma Telephoto Zoom

A good light to use for a smaller budget film is the EssentialPhoto 1050W

For a big budget the film is most likely going to be a feature film therefore the storage needed must be a lot bigger, for example the SanDisk 256GB

A shorter film will not take as long as a feature film to make therefore the power needed is only going to be the Maplin Extra Long Life Batteries 
For a big budget film there will be a bigger power expectancy which means that you should get the Maplin Extra Long Life Batteries

Laptop:
A cheaper laptop that is good for editing is the HP Pavilion

Editing Software:
An editing software that may be good for a smaller budget is the Final Cut pro . This can be used on Apple products only.
For the higher budget a good editing software to get is the Avid editing software

The smaller budget was 3000 where as the bigger budget was 63000000.
In total the smaller budget comes to £877.42, so this is good considering it was the equipment budget, however it is still pricey and you could probably find cheaper alternatives if your budget isn't that big.
For the higher budget the price comes to £11.196.57. This is more aimed towards a feature film or a very big budgeted short film so there is a lot of cheaper alternatives however the quality may not be as good but you do save a lot of money from your budget on the main things needed.
