LOGISTICS: MATERIALS: COSTS

The concept of a project will deeply be dependent on the budget as you will need to make sure you have enough funds to complete what you have started for example you will need a graphics/ art team, sound and audio team. Film directors, actors, props and lots more. Normally film company will be given a large budget so they can complete the tasks they are handed with and will be expedited to pay it back after the production has gone out the the public.

Making sure you stay well within your budget and keeping it as low as possible is a good skill that is needed to be a successful producer. This can determine the out come of the production and the profit that is made after it goes out to the public.

The costs in each department of film will always vary, for example on TV shows like the Walking Dead the zombies will need to look realistic therefore lots of money will need to go into the makeup department. Compared to Kingsman were more money will have to go into the sets in each scene because it's important for the viewer to see the change in his life.

If insufficient time was allocated to sorting out the budget and costs for the film it would have a very big effect on the film as a whole. It would be very easy to go over budget or a department may not be able to get all the resources they need because its out of their budget.

Clearances in materials means the process you go through to get permission, you need permission for; any sets used, the cast starring in your film, music if it is not copyright free, stock film, art posters, any brands mentioned or seen in the film, books, broadcasts, computer programs (if any has been used), dramatic works, and photographs.  Clearances need to be done when making a film so you do not get legally in trouble, your trademark isn't taken down and you have all the insurance needed when making your film.  For a review, you need to go to the attorney. When doing this you need to provide the script. The talent in a film is who stars in it. When you have a short film budget like £3000 over a big Hollywood film budget like £63000000 then you might not always see actors that you know. For a £3000 budget on the talent you could hire out 5 actors. For one male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. For another male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. Lastly for another male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. For one female actor you would have to pay her £15 per hour. For another female actor you would have to pay her £25 per hour. If they each work for 8 hours a day then in total it would cost you £560 per day. Therefore a week of filming would cost you £2800. If your budget has £3000 on each department then you could hire them all but if you wanted to save money on your production then you could use your friends or just have 2-3 experienced actors.
