TELEVISION

The television was first invented in in 1920s on March 25th 1925.
Main uses of the television is to show moving images to an audience.
Facts:
 - Although John Logie Baird did not event the television until 1926, the word "television" for such an invention was first seen in 1907.
 - According to a 2015 survey, 95 percent of UK homes have a working TV set.
 - The average person over the age of four in the UK watches 3hrs 36mins of TV a day.
 - The first outside broadcast on UK television was the Coronation of George VI in 1937.
 - In the UK the 1966 World Cup Final is still the program that attracted the highest audience, just ahead of the funeral of Princess Diana.

The first ever audio recorder was first made on April 9th 1860.
The main uses for an audio recorder is to record a sound so you can play it back and listen to it on one device.
Facts:
 - When the first audio recorder was invented you could record sound but not play it back.
 - The first disc records were invented by Emilie Berliner. The disc records were made of vulcanized rubber.
 - The first iPod MP3 player, the iPod classic was released by Apple Computer in 2001.
 - The first iPod Video MP4 video player and MP3 player was commercially released by Apple Inc. (2005)
 - In 2009 Apple made the first iPod to include a video camera that was the iPod Nano 5G, fifth generation.

The first ever e-book was made in Spain in 1949.
Main uses of digital publishing is so that you can access something thats meant to be paper on a device for when you are on the go or just at home.

 - Going from print to digital has been hugely beneficial for publishers. The sales have grown from $64 million to $3 billion.
 - A global information company reported that 89% of media consumption is done on mobile apps.
 - According to a recent U.S. survey, all digital publishing platforms saw an increase in revenue from 2012 - 2014.
 - The U.S continues to provide the largest market for digital magazines.
 - According to LinkedIn, over 50% of readers today are reading articles on their mobile devices.

Main uses of a video game is to entertain and engage the brain.

 - Most popular age to play games is 18 - 49 years old.
 - Most people who play video games are men. (58% male , 42% female)
 - The average age of people who buy video games is 41.
 - 86% of the chirldren recieve their parents' permission before renting or purchasing a game

An animatic is "a preliminary version of a film, produced by shooting successive  sections of a storyboard and adding a soundtrack".  For films and any other motion picture the filmmaker will sit down and watch an aninmatic for their project.  When a film is released no one ever really thinks about the animatic that is made during the film making.  If the animatic isn't how a client wants it then the whole film could be stopped and not made, this is because the animatic is an insight to the whole film. Clearances in materials means the process you go through to get permission, you need permission for; any sets used, the cast starring in your film, music if it is not copyright free, stock film, art posters, any brands mentioned or seen in the film, books, broadcasts, computer programs (if any has been used), dramatic works, and photographs.  Clearances need to be done when making a film so you do not get legally in trouble, your trademark isn't taken down and you have all the insurance needed when making your film.  For a review, you need to go to the attorney. When doing this you need to provide the script. The talent in a film is who stars in it. When you have a short film budget like £3000 over a big Hollywood film budget like £63000000 then you might not always see actors that you know. For a £3000 budget on the talent you could hire out 5 actors. For one male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. For another male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. Lastly for another male actor you would have to pay him £10 per hour. For one female actor you would have to pay her £15 per hour. For another female actor you would have to pay her £25 per hour. If they each work for 8 hours a day then in total it would cost you £560 per day. Therefore a week of filming would cost you £2800. If your budget has £3000 on each department then you could hire them all but if you wanted to save money on your production then you could use your friends or just have 2-3 experienced actors.
